We will have an election of three board members this year at the Annual Meeting.

Meet one of our Nominees: Ron Kurey – Running for At-Large

Ron Kurey has been married to his wife, Deborah, for 40 years. They reside in Appleton and they have four grown children, and tragically lost another a few years ago.

Ron farms along with his two brothers at Kurey Brothers LLP. They exited dairy farming in 2003. Since selling the cows, they have grown into a grain operation with 2,300 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat. They recently completed a major expansion of their grain setup.

When he has free time he enjoys spending time with his family. In addition, he really enjoys snowmobiling in the winter and boating in the summer. When not farming, he also enjoys the quick trip up north to relax.

Ron has been a volunteer fire fighter for the Town of Center Fire Department for over 25 years. He has been a first responder for 12 years and served on the town board four years. He also spends time volunteering for the Mackville tractor pulls.

Ron wants to serve on the board of directors because he wants to be a voice for the growers in his area. He believes the cooperative offers many opportunities for growers from products, to meetings, to marketing programs and he wants to help grow these. He feels that the cooperative is a great place to do business and puts a lot of trust in the employees. By serving as a director, he would like to see the co-op continue to grow its footprint in the members it serves, and help guide in opportunities that would arise.
